Planning Your Booth Materials Around the Card Show Calendar

Most TCG vendors work a recurring circuit of local and regional shows, often clustered more heavily in certain seasons. Treating booth materials as part of that yearly calendar, rather than a last-minute scramble before each event, makes for better decisions and fewer rushed reorders.

Order ahead of your busiest stretch

If a particular season brings your heaviest run of shows, that's the window to make sure your display materials are in good shape well before it starts — not the week before your first event of the stretch. Printing and proofing takes time, and rush decisions are where mismatched colors or sizing mistakes tend to slip through.

Reassess after your slow season

The quieter months between show seasons are a good time to evaluate what held up and what didn't. A tablecloth that's looking worn after a busy run is easier to replace calmly during downtime than to notice the morning of a show.

Restock consumables in bulk

Business cards and stickers get handed out at every show and run out faster than display pieces. Ordering these in bulk ahead of a busy stretch, rather than one show at a time, avoids showing up without enough to hand out.

Building the habit

A simple yearly checklist — inspect display pieces, restock print materials, review branding for any updates — done once before your peak season keeps booth prep from becoming a recurring source of stress every time a show comes up.
