Turn Booth Visitors Into Followers: Building Your Audience at Card Shows
Share

Here's a hard truth about card shows: most people who stop at your table won't buy anything that day. They're browsing, comparing, or saving their budget for one chase card. But every one of them is a potential customer later, if you give them a way to stay connected.
The vendors who grow fastest treat shows as audience-building events, not just sales events. Here's how.
1. Make your handle impossible to miss
Your social handle should appear on your booth at least twice, ideally on your retractable banner and the front panel of your tablecloth. Keep it short and clean, and use the same handle across every platform so people can find you anywhere.
2. Put a QR code where hands naturally go
A QR code on a small stand near your checkout area, or on a table-top banner, gets scanned far more than one placed up high. Link it to a simple landing page with your socials, store, and upcoming show dates.
3. Give them something to take home
A business card is the most reliable way to stay in someone's pocket. Include your handle, store link, QR code, and a hook like "Follow for live breaks and weekly drops." Pair it with a free die-cut sticker and people tend to keep both, especially kids and younger collectors who stick them on binders and deck boxes.

4. Offer a reason to follow right now
"Follow us" is weak. "Follow and get $5 off today" works. Other ideas:
- Enter a giveaway by following and tagging the show
- Get first access to your next online drop
- Join an email list for show-only deals
5. Create a photo moment
When people take photos at your booth, your brand ends up in their stories. A retractable backdrop with bold artwork gives collectors a natural place to snap pulls, trades, and selfies. Ask happy buyers if you can photograph them with their purchase, then tag them. They'll often reshare it.
6. Follow up within 48 hours
Post a recap the day after the show: thank attendees, show your best sales, and announce where you'll be next. Momentum fades fast, so make sure new followers see you while the show is fresh in their minds.
